about martha holmberg

in brief

I'm a cookbook author, food editor, recipe developer, and avid-yet-undisciplined home gardener. Last summer was all about tomatoes, appropriately—nine varieties, 23 plants, and a new trellising method that was life changing.

After 15 years in Portland, Oregon, I now live with my sweetie John in Spokane Washington, which is about as far east in the state of Washington as you can go without falling into Idaho. When I’m not working in the kitchen or garden, I’m probably trout fishing or Nordic skiing. Not in the same season, though that would be rad.

I'm available for projects

I'm always open to new projects, and I love to work with like-minded collaborators. Here's a partial list of capabilities:

  • Co-write or ghost-write cookbooks

  • Develop recipes

  • Consult on cookbook proposals

  • Write copy for advertising and marketing campaigns

  • Translate cookbooks and culinary texts from French to English

  • Manage editorial projects, including design direction and photo shoots
